Chosen in Christ: Ephesians 1’s Waterfall of Praise (vv. 3–14)

Ephesians 1 opens with a waterfall of worship. In Greek, verses 3–14 roll like one long blessing.

God “chose us in him before the foundation of the world… In love he predestined us for adoption… In him we have redemption through his blood…” (Ephesians 1:4–7).

Notice the refrain: in Him

Every spiritual blessing is located in Christ (1:3). Election is not a cold mechanism; it is the Father’s love purpose aimed at holiness and blamelessness before Him.

And the Spirit is the seal and guarantee of our inheritance (1:13–14). Past choice, present redemption, future inheritance — held together by the Triune God.

Paul wants your identity to begin here, not in your last success or failure.
