The Mystery Revealed: Gentiles as Fellow Heirs in Christ (Ephesians 3)

Paul speaks of a “mystery” now revealed: Gentiles are “fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel” (Ephesians 3:6).

Deeper meaning

This was not a footnote. It was the shockwave of the resurrection age. The dividing wall is broken (Ephesians 2:14). The promise to Abraham blesses the nations (Galatians 3:8, 14).

Paul’s apostleship to the Gentiles is suffering-shaped (Colossians 1:24–27). He carries “Christ in you, the hope of glory” as the open secret now proclaimed.

When churches erect new walls — of culture, class, preference — they obscure the mystery Paul bled to make plain: one new people, one Savior, one table of grace.
