“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above… For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:1–3).
The deeper comfort of ‘hidden’
Your truest life is not on public display, not measurable by metrics. It is concealed in Christ — safe, pending appearance when He appears (3:4).
From that identity Paul lists what to put to death and what to put on (3:5–14). Christian ethics are wardrobe language: strip off the old self, wear compassion, humility, patience, forgiveness, and above all love.
And the peace of Christ rules, the word of Christ dwells richly, and every act becomes thanksgiving in His name (3:15–17). Heavenly-mindedness, for Paul, produces earthly faithfulness.
